how to turn platform pro blog "posts page" into a grid format

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, I have a custom code question. My site is http://ningboguide.com I would like the front page (I'm using the blog as the front page) to look more like this site: http://www.broadsheet.com.au I was wondering if anyone knew a custom code way for me to split the blog posts I have into categories on the posts page. So, rather than all of them listing in a long list, they show up in grid format only. (I know that I can basically do this through magazine mode and number of full width posts.) However, I would like the posts page to be sectioned into categories like eat/drink, life/style, etc. and for blog posts with those categories to only show up in that designated section on the front (posts) page. Anyone have any idea how to go about this? Thanks, Nick

You will need to enable the child theme (PlatformBase) if you haven't done so already so that the files can be edited (without you having to worry about destroying any of the core files). The grid format will have to be accomplished using a custom template for the post loop (the content area where posts are displayed).

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
