How to activate shortcodes in widgets?

Recommended Posts

Hi, how can I activate shortcodes in WP widgets? I have tried editing the functions.php file, as well as the /includes/core.init.php. When I try and add the content below in either file the shortcodes still do not activate... can someone assist me in where to add this code? Thanks /** * Add shortcodes to widgets */ add_filter('widget_text', 'do_shortcode');

OK, I need to add this to the function.php file in the platformbase folder. Got it. But this still doesn't appear to allow shortcodes in widgets....

You add shortcode... Something in square brackets like [ these ] to a text widget that has been dragged to the sidebar in which you wish to place it. I have dozens of such widgets on my site with shortcodes. Very easy with no hooks or code changing required.
