andulka 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2011 Hi, a pre-sale question is those are allowed. I am testing the Platform theme for a website (have the Station Pro already installed on another) :-) For some reason the social icons aren't showing, only the rss feed icon which also disappears if I disable the Site Branding (intentionally perhaps?). However facebook, twitter etc. weren't showing even with Site Branding on. I have added the paths and enabled the use of social icons. I checked that before doing anything at all to the site, right after installing the theme and adding the paths, so it can't be anything I've done. Any thoughts? As its a new site for an artist who still has an existing site with the record company and the new site isn't officially online yet, I'd rather not post a link to it anywhere on the internet, just asking on a general level for now, if that is possible. kastelic 6 Report post Posted September 6, 2011 As long as you have the brandnav section active and the urls placed in the appropriate fields the icons will show up. That's all you need to do. Maybe there's some custom CSS hiding them? Its hard to give more ideas without seeing the site.
andulka 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2011 That's just it, they are not showing up - that was my point exactly. Obviously they should show up but they do not, the only icon that's showing is the rss. Like I said, there was no custom css as it was pretty much the first thing I did after activating the theme. It looks pretty similar to what you have in the Station Pro and there it's working without problems. I'll get back to you when we're a bit closer to publishing the site and I'm able to post a link. andulka 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2011 In any case, I don't want to use the brandnav as I'm thinking of using a slider for the header, so I guess I couldn't make them visible even if it was working as it should?
catrina 103 Report post Posted September 8, 2011 That's true, since the social icons are in brandnav and you'd be using a slider there instead. You'd need to add the icons using a hook if you wanted to put the icons somewhere else (something that could be done in the child theme if you purchased the theme).
