How do I make PageLines way less server intensive?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have had nothing but problems since launching my new blog via the PageLines Platform Pro template. After spending a few weeks trying to figure out what server issues I was having, the hosting company is now saying that all signs are pointing to the template itself sucking a ton of resources in order to function. For example, on this page (http://www.danoah.com/2011/09/bullied-the-forgotten-memoirs-buttball.html) I launched this morning and immediately my site went down because the CPU on my server spiked to 100% and it couldn't handle the traffic. They say it may be a faulty setting or something within the template. Is this a PageLines thing? What can I do? Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm in crisis mode with it at the moment.

How many plugins are active? I see you have a few social plugins on each post. If its a busy site on shared hosting you should use wordpress super cache.

We disabled all plug-ins and it still was having serious issues calling way too many processes which is why they are saying it's the theme itself.

Processes? The page should have 1 'process' as it renders. Depends on how your server is configured, any wp site can be intensive if PHP is not setup properly. Or more importantly MYSQL is mis-configured. Seriously tho, super-cache is the way to go if your site is in any way busy. We use it on the test site with 3500 blogs all running PlatformPro.
