juniorgolf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 I am using iBlogPro4. I have my "News" page set as by blog post page. (I am using a Static "Home" and "Blog" setting) I have selected the "default page template" for the "News" page - so the Feature Page Template should not be showing on the page. I have tried everything I can think of but - I can't keep the Feature Page Template from displaying. Secondly, I use the Page Redirect Plugin to have Category Posts display on specific Pages on a site running iBlogPro3. It works perfect. When I try to do this on the iBlogPro4 site, I keep getting the Feature Page Template on the page with the posts. I use Redirect to display the posts from the /archives/category/"category slug" and as I said, it keeps pulling the Feature Page Temple to display the posts in iBlogPro4. On the iBlogPro3 site, we run a Junior Golf Association and we have to show "Results" by Age Group - so I use Redirect to have specific category posts display on the Pages for each Age Group. I realize that Wordpress isn't that great at letting you display Posts on specific Pages. I use Wordpress as a CMS and it works great for our purposes. The Pagelines Themes have been very easy to work with and work great. I am wondering if it's just more of a case of me not completely understanding how iBlogPro4 handles pages. If code needs to be revised to accomplish what I'm trying to do, that's okay with me - but I will need some help. juniorgolf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 I found your video tutorial for changing the Nav.php to easily have Category Posts display on a "Page" - so I have that covered. But I still get the Features Page Template as my "default" page. So when I look at all of the posts for a Category - the Features Page Template is used. This is probably an easy fix - I just can't seem to find it.
cmunns 16 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 Is it possible to attach screenshot of all the setting so I can double check. Also there is an option in the theme admin to have the feature page template on the posts page make sure that isn't checked
juniorgolf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 YOU CALLED IT! "an option in the theme admin to have the feature page template on the posts page make sure that isn't checked" I unchecked it and no more Feature Page on my Posts. The Feature and Highlight Pages are awesome - it really makes a website "standout." I should have done a better job of comparing the Option Settings to the "Theme Page Map" that you set up explaining what the "term" for each area on the page means. I totally missed this Option. Since you have to make instructions for "the lowest common denominator" - an idea might be to show an image of the page area next to each Option - that way even dolts like me would understand - and not take up your time! Great Themes! Great Support! I can't say enough good things about PageLines!
juniorgolf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 One last question. I am using iThemes Billboard Plug-in in the Full-Width Bottom Sidebar. It shows up on every page I have selected it in the Custom Code Setting on each Page. BUT it isn't showing up on my designated "blog" page. Is this another setting issue? I looked over all of the Setting and have everything checked in Optional Setting. I looked in the Page Source in Firefox and I don't see where the sidebar/widget is being called. So I guess it's a setting?
juniorgolf 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 When I select a Category - the "default page" does not have the full-width bottom sidebar on it - so I'm guessing it has to be a setting. Still looking
