Plugin Recommendations: Multi Galleries One Page

Recommended Posts

alainafrederick

Hello. I am using platform pro/base on my website. I am using it primarily to promote my photography. What I am trying to do is to be able to have a "Portfolio" page. On this page I'd like a set of thumbnails three across two down. Each thumbnail can then be clicked and a lightbox would appear with the images in that gallery allowing the user to see the different photos in the gallery without having to go to different pages. I have found a few plugins that work with the theme IF I put each gallery on it's own page. I can not find any plugins that work to have multiple galleries on one page. Does anyone know of any that work? I have tried a few and some of them then make the theme look all wonky so obviously they don't work with the theme. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if you found this one yet but you can try it: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multiple-galleries/

Unfortunately it does not work for what I need. Thanks though. I think I may have to find someone who can tweak some plugins to do what I need. :(

There is a non-plugin strategy: http://www.aarontweeton.com/wordpress/multiple-galleries-on-one-page-using-wordpress

This would be nice however I need to do six galleries showing only ONE thumbnail per gallery and then to see rest of the images one must click on the thumbnail to open the lightbox. It seems most "multi gallery" solutions show the thumbnails of the entire gallery instead of just one thumbnail.

One solution I can think of is to create one page with thumbnails for each gallery that you can link manually to the different galleries, but then Lightbox would need to be implemented somehow.

I will go ahead and search Google to see if I can find a code to link to galleries using thumbnails. In the mean time I think I'll continue using the individual pages for the portfolio until I can find a solution. Thank you kindly Catrina for answers! Perhaps someone else might see this and have done this before and may have some coding they can share :)

This is what I'm hoping to achieve - http://english.frank-riederle.de/gallery.html Basically a page with thumbnails that when you click it will open a lightbox with the images that belong to that thumbnail. Personally I don't like how Frank Riederle has his set up that when the lightbox opens there are two sets of navigation as I only want navigation for the images not between the images and the galleries. So frustrating having all the plugins but nothing works or they break the theme!
