Main Index Template

Recommended Posts

It seems that my main index page is controlled by the Posts Page template. When i add Pagelines Features to that page so that Features appear on my homepage, Features also appears on my category lists pages where I cannot remove Features using Section Control. I feel like I'm missing a fundamental concept here, but I can't see how to manage the main index page template independently. Please help.

That template controls more than your front page. You can remove the feature from the category, search results and archives pages by adding the code below into Dashboard > PlatformPro > Custom Code / CSS Rules
.category #feature{display:none;} .search #feature{display:none;} .archive #feature{display:none;}
Try using the "Default Page" and see how that works for you.

I kind f know what you're saying, but not sure how to apply it. Rangelone's css fix did the trick too but I can tell it's a hack. :)

I meant to try use the "Default Page" in the "Template Setup." One one of my blogs, I tried doing what you are wanting to do (except with a carousel) and I messed something up so I can't get posts to appear on my home page no matter what I do. lol Oh well.. I guess it's less cluttered that way. :) But hey.. at least you got it working!
