I want the search bar to return results as full posts and not as posts-excerpts

Go to Theme Options > Pages And Posts to change your Post Excerpt Placement settings.

Wow a $150 template and I can't do simple customizations, I guess I'll look for an alternative solution

It's possible to do a customization with the search results. You will have to edit the _posts.php template file since it is used for the search results. To avoid losing that customization, however, you'll need to create a child theme based on iBlogPro: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
