I added this code suggested in the forums to the base functions.php, but nothing happens. // ==================================================== // = BASE FUNCTIONS - Where you should add your code = // ==================================================== register_sidebar( $args ); $args = array( 'name' => 'Header Widget Area', 'id' => 'sidebar-$i', 'description' => '', 'before_widget' => '', 'after_widget' => '', 'before_title' => '', 'after_title' => '' ); add_action ('pagelines_before_branding','add_header_widget'); function add_header_widget(){ dynamic_sidebar( 'Header Widget Area' ); }

Forgive the "obvious" question, but: your Base theme is activated?

Hi, Please refer to this. http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/5556/add-shortcode-in-function.php-to-add-widget-in-header/p1 I would tend to agree that a widget doesn't really work well in the header. May I ask what purpose or content you wish to put into the header? Most likely your best option is a hook to add either a script or content.
