Styling from visual editor does not appear on site page

Recommended Posts

I used the visual editor on one of our post pages, bolded and italicized some words, saved the changes and when I go to the page on the web, the bold and italicized words appear as ordinary text. The styles from the visual editor are not showing up when the page is viewed online. What is the point of having a visual editor in WP if simple style changes such as this are not reflected in the page when viewed? Is there some setting in PlatformPro that needs to be changed here?

Have you upgraded anything? Installed any plugins? I'll suggest you try to deactivate every plugin one at a time and test to see if the problem persists.

This is a brand-new site that was set up from the beginning the the latest versions of everything. I am running WP 3.2.1 and Platform Pro 1.5.2 (using Platform Base child theme 1.4.1) I deactivated all plugins, cleared my cache, restarted browser, and I still have the same problem - formatting in posts is not appearing when the page is viewed online. So the problem is definitely not with the plugins. Perhaps Platform Pro and WP 3.2.1 are somehow incompatible? Any ideas?

I think I figured this out. I was viewing my first post entry from the main posts page I had just set up - you know, where you see the first portion of the postings? Then when I click on the Continue Reading link, it takes me to the individual post page for that post. On the individual page, the styling IS showing up. SO, it seems that styling is just not being applied to the posts summary page, but IS being applied on the individual post pages. I can live with that. Whew!!
