bridget 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 I'm a complete novice...Okay, I've installed WordPress and I THINK i've installed Platform Pro, and its Child theme, Platform Pro Base. How can I check? What does it mean to 'activate' one or the other and which one should I be working with in Wordpress. Thanks. Confused of Sydney, Bridget
catrina 103 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 Theme activation means that whichever theme you activate is the one you're going to be using (it'll be displayed on the website, it'll be the one you work, etc.). You need to make sure that PlatformBase is activated and PlatformPro is also installed. Only one theme can be activated at one time. The reason why PlatformBase needs to be activated is because it contains the files you can update (i.e. the functions.php file) without worrying about messing up the parent files (which are located in the parent theme, PlatformPro). Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to. Designer | Catrina Dulay Founder | Catrina and Mouse
