page speed issue and google apis

Recommended Posts

WebIT

tools.pingdom.com revealed a link in my header that i can't find the source of. ui-bg_highlight-hard_100_f2f5f7_1x100.pn and several other image files are being pulled from the google server. Any idea where these are coming from and if I need them in iBlog Pro. I'd like to stop this from happening.

Possibly from a forms plugin, but the image itself is a small one of 100 pixels in width and 1 pixel high. It seems to be related to a theme for the form (probably the layout of the form itself) and it's a background. It shouldn't slow anything. On a more positive note, I browsed to your site in both IE and Firefox and it loaded pretty darn fast. Candidly, I wish my site loaded that quick. Google provides a number of APIs and services such as analytics to help make a wide variety of plugins and themes function. I don't think there's any worry about them. I would also seriously doubt any of them will slow your site. More than likely your computer, when viewing the site, will have excessive data passing through like an upgrade in progress or lots of stuff in the cache.

That's from a jQuery theme called "Cupertino"... not from iBlog ;)

Do you have Statpress SEOSolution plugin installed? According to my sources, they use Cupertino theme and every one of those images. If so, deactivate that plugin and do a hard refresh and I'm sure that list of images will disappear.
