Error message when viewing posts - permalinks?

I receive error message whenever I try to click on posts. I dug around in the forum, and found that if I change my permalinks to default, this solves the problem. However, I like my custom URLs - which are much prettier than the default settings. Any solution to this or reason why my posts disappear under custom permalinks? Actually I believe we just fixed it ourselves by adding /%postname%/ at the end of the Custom link

Your not supposed to put any link in that box ONLY the permalink template /%postname%/
