WordPress permissions problem

Sorry to post a general WP issue on your nice forum. I just assume someone here has had the same problem. Things worked fine for awhile, and its been awhile so I can't even tell you what I changed when it started happening but I can't get any media up due to a permissions error. I get: Unable to create directory .... Is its parent directory writable by the server? Someone said they should all be 777, and they were all 755, so I changed them all. Nothing happened. Now that I found my favorite Flickr plug-in kills the Feature page, I REALLY need to be able to write directly to my server! (and its the only way to use thumbs on the excerpts page!) Thanks!

#*&!@(#*&(*&!!!!! Finally found this on the WP forums: After making sure the permissions are right, just remove the damn "/" from ???/wp-content/uploads??? in your Settings -> Miscellaneous settings!
