How to Add Permanent Text Below Carousel (for recent posts)

I would like a slider on my homepage for recent posts that shows post titles and possibly even an excerpt. What option could I use to make this happen? Could I add text to the carousel? Could I make features automatic? I am using PlatformPro. Thanks

The Features Slider has the capacity to pick up images from posts (see PlatformPro >Feature Settings) . I'm unsure if it will dynamically pick up the heading and excerpt.
