Platform - Box color is not highlighted | How to highlight a menu item that is a category?

Hi, I previously created a similar question but I accidentally accepted a general comment as an answer. Anyways, how do I highlight category menu items? Currently, I believe only page menu items are highlighted.

Please provide a link to your site and explain how you want to highlight category menu items? On the menu or items in the category?

Here's my website. http://ownbla.com/magazine/ If you click on page menu, you'll notice the page menu box is kept highlighted. If you click on category menu, you'll notice the category menu box is NOT highlighted. I want to have the category menu box kept highlighted after a user clicks on it. Thanks,

Okay... This is interesting. Please navigate to Appearances > Menus from your Dashboard. Look at Categories (the box that creates the link in your menu). Please let me know if it's indented a bit.

Please add the following CSS to Custom Code > Custom CSS:

ul#menu-main-menu li#menu-item-object-category current-menu-item {background-color: #FCFCFC;}

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

Thanks. The highlighting problem is in the first two menu items: http://www.thepostreality.com/test/ Thanks, Randall PS: this is a test site so it looks very clumsy!

Hi, I think this is what you need.
.current-menu-item a { background: red; }
Holy cow, that worked on the category page. Bravo! But it doesn't work on the custom page, which is a link. Do you have a solution for that?

I know this is a dumb question, but that "blog page" is a custom page because I link to the home page of the site. If it is not possible to highlight the menu item of a custom page, how else I can I create a menu item for the home page?

I also discovered that your script is only highlighting the category page. I changed it to black, but two other menu items are still red! And of course no highlight at all for the custom page (blog page).

The CSS selector has to be more specific since the menu item is unique. This selector is for the "home page" on your menu:
ul#menu-flow-menu li#menu-item-257
