ronaldmeaux 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2010 I recently bought iBlogPro4 and really like the template. However, my site is having performance issues (slow to load, not loading, etc.). After several calls with Go Daddy they did a diagnostic and found that my site's CSS/JavaScript/Plugins are taking "longer to perform" than usual. Other sites on my server are performing well. Can you help me out? I'm not even sure where to start.
Andrew 207 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 hmm... might be related to plugins.. Did you try deactivating them?
ronaldmeaux 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2010 I never activated any plug-ins. Are there some that are pre-configured? Also, I noticed a few things about my site on different browsers. On Safari, the subnav link colors don't work like they do on Firefox. Also, the layout of some pages are incorrect on IE. Any suggestions? Thanks.
ronaldmeaux 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 I figured out the layout issues on IE and I have another post re: the subnav links. Any feedback on my plug-in post above?
cmunns 16 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 Yes there are certain plug-ins that we have integrated, that you still need to install yourself for them to work. The theme will notify you if you try activating something that requires a plug-in such as WP125 or flickRSS
Andrew 207 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 as for the performance issue... did you check your site vs the demo on Pingdom Tools?
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 I'm curious if your website receives heavy traffic. You may consider trying this plugin that will hopefully speed things up: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-super-cache/ You can of course automatically add this from within the WordPress Admin; Plugins > Add New > Search for: wp super cache > Click "Install" > Then Activate http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/plugin-install.php?tab=search You may also consider trying other caching plugins, if you do please report back in a few days with the results; if things have sped up for you. Thanks, Bryan
ronaldmeaux 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 Pingdom Tools is perfect, thanks for the recommendation. It looks like things are working fine. Maybe GoDaddy was just trying to pass the buck.
