Remove posted "by" and "on" in catergory view

I am perplexed I've managed to remove all by and posted on data on posts bar when someone looks at posts in category view how do i remove it (IE date and name)

When you say "by" and "posted on" data, do you mean the Author and Date listed under the headline for each post? Please send a link to your site.

Thats correct, its removed from under all headings bar when i click a category and get a selection of posts. they for some reason put something put back the posted by and date.

I believe that requires some customized styling. Are you familiar with custom code? Do you have Firebug for Firefox?
