Placing box horizontally aligned with Site Branding

My Site Branding takes up only 40% of the Header -- and there's plenty of space between it and the social icon link I have. Is there any way to add a box or text to that space in the site header?

Can you direct me toward a more straightforward solution: I don't have the technical knowledge at this point to tackle hooks and the link you provided appears to be directed at a more advanced level.

How about a link to your site so I know what sections you have active. If there's no live link, are you using the brandnav or branding section? Then I can give you an example of the code needed to do this.
