W3C errors within Template??? Help please!

Recommended Posts

I??™m having issues with the W3C validation of my site (XHTML 1.0 Transitional ??“ as set by PageLines in the template I??™m guessing). First off, does this really matter? Secondly, if it does, how am I to fix it? It seems that all errors are within the actual WHP template and programming is definitely not my strong suit at all. Here are a couple of the errors: 1. Line 73, Column 16: there is no attribute "property" You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. 2. Line 188, Column 27: there is no attribute "role"

You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. I??™m really confused by this and would really appreciate any help anyone could give me and explain why these errors are here?!?!?

I wouldn't worry about it, it doesn't affect your site or seo rankings in any way. Sometimes a site will use things that aren't acctepted into the standard yet, for example, advanced CSS3 stuff. Google.com doesn't get close to validating: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.google.com/ which should give you the indication that it just doesn't matter.
