antonella 1 Report post Posted August 13, 2011 I will be using WPML for creating a dual language site. Does Platform Pro have mo/po theme files available? Where would I find them? Would they have for Polish? Thanks, Antonella PS: The search function on the forum does not seem to be working so I have been unable to research. Please excuse if this duplicates previous discussions.

Simon 248 Report post Posted August 13, 2011 Blank po files are in the language folder. Currently the theme has only been translated to German.
sibilar 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2011 Hi Antonella, Have you been able to use WPML with PlatformPro? I ask because I'm about to build a multilingual site for the first time and, besides being a bit confused with it all, I've come down to 2 options: WPML and qTranslate. I'd like to know about your experience with WPML and PlatformPro. Thank you! Sibila
antonella 1 Report post Posted November 4, 2011 Hi, I've been using WPML for a while and have found it very useful. Basically I've used it to run multilingual sites. However, the wp interface has always been in English and I haven't needed to change that. From what I understand, the po/mo files are to enable the translation for the theme/wp interface. If you need to offer the wp interface in different languages, then you have to see what it available by the theme. It seems that Platform Pro is only available in German. If you only need the text on the web site that is visible to users to be translated, the WPML alone should be fine. WPML offers an easy toggle for pages and posts. For widgets and other elements, you have to do string translations, which means you go to a special section and add the translations there for each widget. However, I have found that some plugins do not support localization. It's not a problem with WPML, it's just that the plugin doesn't offer their code in a way that will work with any translation option such as WPML. I've had to jiggle things about by adding extra sidebars and calling each sidebar for each language. Let me know if you have any other questions.
