iBlogPro: error messages in admin panel

Recommended Posts

sander

Hi, I just have installed the iBlogPro theme with wordpress 2.9.2 and I got various error messages in the 'iBlogPro theme options' section and the 'Feature setup' section. I think this has to be resolved to get any further. The error message in various boxes are like: "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /www/htdocs/freestatenl/http/wp-content/themes/iBlogPro/core/admin/admin_functions.php on line 284" What do I have to do ? I have various wordpress themes setup easilly so I don't know where to check in this case. Please let me know what to do ? Can you please give me some advice ? Kind regards, Sander example at: 6BfX2.jpg ps currently I have the site setup with in maintenance mode so external visitors can't see what I am doing.

Could you disable all the plugins and see if it works then?

Hi Adam, I have disabled and deleted all plugins and still got those error messages in the two iBlogPro4 admin sections. I can work with the site (and it looks excellent) but unfortunately I can't use various of the options. All of the error message refer to line 284 in admin_funcions.php file. Do I have to check/change editor rights at the server or something ? Do I have to invite you as an administrator, so you can see the error messages and/or do I have to acquire you an username and password to get a FTP-session and database acces ? Please let me know and have a nice day ! Kind regards, Sander

Try backing up your database then restoring to defaults, or at least make sure before you restore you keep all the info you've entered somewhere.

Hi Adam, Thx for your advice. I already performed also a clean install of wordpress. (deleted all files and database tables) and then again added the iBlogPro theme and again got the same error messages in the iBlogPro admin panels. Over here it's right now 22.45hrs, and tomorrowmorning I will make a new attempt. I will let you know the results. Kind regards and have a nice evening ! Sander

did you try the "reset features to defaults" button on bottom of the settings page? Usually that fixes this problem. If it doesn't help; are you on PHP 5?

Hi Andrew, It is good to read that this 'problem' is familiar but unfortuantely the "reset features to defaults" didn't work out either. I also deleted all files and tables, and installed wordpress 2.9.2 again and after that uploaded and activated the iBlogPro theme. I had the same results and also after clicking the reset to defaults.... After that I installed the maintenance mode plugin to have this site 'under construction'. The version on the server is PHP Version 5.2.0-8+etch10, see at the link : http://www.freestate.nl/phpinfo.php.Perhabs you can see which settings might be conflicting. So I am very curious what the solution is... because I would like to have this theme completely working because, besides the mentioned bug, the theme and its admin panel seems to be excellent. Do you let me know what 'we' can do next, ok ? Thanks in advance, Sander

I'm confused by this one. Its working fine on my local version, and I haven't seen this problem before. Your setup seems fine. Which version of the theme are you on?

I just bought the theme 3 days ago and downloaded it. The theme version is : iBlogPro 4.0.6 And I use the ordinary wordpress 2.9.2 version In the changelog.txt I see the last change refers to the core file which is also mentioned in the error message. changelog.txt iBlogPro Release Notes: **************************** Version 4.0.6 - Core upgrade Do you have any clue ? Or should I download an earlier wordpress version ?

Andrew is looking into it. Something specific to your server that were trying to fix.

I have exactly the same problem with the today purchased theme EcoPro - please tell me how to handle this problem.

I did log into the servers and saw the issue. This is related to a specific server setting (probably PHP setting)... which makes it hard to duplicate. It is a bug though that will be addressed shortly in a maintenance upgrade. More on this soon.

Ok, so I solved this one. This is due to "magic_quotes_gpc" being turned on in your php.ini file. Although we've patched the core for future releases this is a deprecated (obsolete) setting; and we recommend asking your host to change it to "off" which will solve this problem for you completely.

Excellent !! I will ask my host to change this and what this change of setting could possibly do wither other apps on the server. I am very glad with this theme and with your consistince support to have this theme work bugfree for me as well !! Many thanks !! Regards, Sander
