Add post category to top level menu

How do I add a post category to the top level menu? Thanks Kev

Hi Kev, Under Appearance->Menus, make sure you've set a custom menu. Once that's done, in the left column (of the Menus page), you'll see a box of "Categories". Put a check next to the one you want to add to the menu, and select "Add to Menu" (or similar wording). That should do it ;)

Yeh that works but doesn't do what I want it to. It overwrites the menu that's there by default and doesn't show the posts in that category. What I want is a menu at the top that navigates to different pages. On those pages I want to see only posts relating to that page. Can that be done? K

You can add the category links using the custom menu and the posts under that category as subpages for those individual menu items, but that's a manual job and too difficult. I think the structure of the menu will have to be re-done to accommodate the items that you want displayed in the drop down menus.
