Do you mean 120 wide by 600 tall? Are you talking about the sidebar, or the main content area? What kind of widget is it?

maybe I'm talking about the sidebar I would like to place an advertising banner http://www.redlightgirlsrule.com/russian.jpg'>http://www.redlightgirlsrule.com/russian.jpg on the left hand side (outside the content area) and for it to be 120x600 I have done it before in other themes with widgets however I don't quite see how to do it in whitehousepro. thanks, john ps. the site is http://www.redlightgirlsrule.com DO NOT LOOK IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY ADULT CONTENT

The sidebar is on the right side. I think you're saying you want to put the ad in the left side, which would be in the main content area. Just to make sure, are you saying you want it to the left of the main content and not in the right sidebar?

Ah, so you want it at the top, directly above your blog posts? Would you mind the height of the advertisement increasing the amount of scrolling?

hi catrina, thanks for your help. I would like the banner in question on the LEFT side. I was looking at the setup and it gives you a choice which side you want the sidebar on. Is the route I should take? So, the short answer is currently there is no option in WHP to have a left sidebar. However, if you're somewhat comfortable adding PHP and some CSS, you could make it work. You would first have to register a new sidebar: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/register_sidebar. Then, you would need to call the new sidebar in one of the theme files (I'd have to check on which one). Finally, you would have to modify the CSS to make the center column not as wide. These steps are assuming you'd like that sidebar to appear on all pages.
