mending 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 There still seems to be an obvious problem with the Twitterbar. As seen here: http://wordpress.mending.dk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Dump.png the external Twitter plugin works fine displaying tweets from my account where the PlatformPro Twitterbar fails. By the way... the update interval (in seconds) for the "Simple Twitter Widget" plugin is set to "1800"

agbo 1 Report post Posted September 3, 2011 thanks, pross, but what does it mean? How can I fix my problem as it is not working?
Simon 248 Report post Posted September 3, 2011 Im sorry the plugin is broken, there are a few possible fixes in its forum on wordpress.org: http://wordpress.org/tags/twitter-for-wordpress?forum_id=
poseyg+ 1 Report post Posted September 4, 2011 The Twitter function is still broken in the latest updates. I can use a number of Twitter plugins and it works fine. However, when I try to show the "Twitter Bar" it errors out. This has nothing to do with blocking ip addresses or too many domains on a server. Sorry, but there is still something not fixed with the latest update of 1.5.
Simon 248 Report post Posted September 4, 2011 Then use the twitter plugin, we use the twitter API so we can cache the reply and save you bandwidth in the database. Nothing is stopping you using a plugin that uses the raw rss. The error codes returned in the twitter bar are the actual error returned for your name vs IP
poseyg+ 1 Report post Posted September 4, 2011 I'm not trying to start an argument here...I'm simply trying to state that up until just a few weeks ago the Twitter Bar at the bottom of the page worked. I like this feature and I'm simply disappointed that it is no longer working properly when it was working fine on several of my sites for the past three months. Jenny 33 Report post Posted September 4, 2011 I've received that error a few times myself, but upon doing what the error says (waiting and refreshing), it works again. ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up. Simon 248 Report post Posted September 4, 2011 Actual twitter plugins use OAUTH to supply your actual twitter login info using a complicated handshake. Twitter does not limit these kinds of API requests, because they know who they are coming from. We will never go down this route, it is beyond the scope of a simple twitter widget. mrjefferypeck 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2011 So where are we at with a fix? I will say, the best thing about the error is it caused me to realize that my platform pro/base was out of date. Please fix! Thanks
Simon 248 Report post Posted September 9, 2011 Please open a new thread, with your versions listed. Its impossible to determine what any error is when you just say 'Please fix!' without any information or errors.
