Callout section is permanently hidden!

Recommended Posts

Somehow I must have selected something (that I cannot find where to fix) with the function of the callout section as it is showing up in the Pagelines Section control panel selected (meaning: it is hidden as a default). I have it in 3 areas (Header, Footer, Template) so that I can easily choose which section I want it to show up in or not according to the type of page I am editing. When I go to UN-tick the box in any one of those above mentioned sections, it will remove the tick. I then click Update to renew the page as I have just edited it, but the tick is turned back on as if I didn't do a thing. What am I missing and how can I fix this so that when I UN-tick that selection, it stays that way!??

I think I got it. It must have been something that was not getting cleared in the cache. Had to reset my Options Defaults back to their origins. Frustrating, but it seems to have worked. I can control when and where the Callout section shows up and/or is hidden. Sucks that I have to reset all my design options, upload logos, favicons, etc. all over again. It seems that there are a few cache related issues when using Firefox as the browser. I also noticed much slower response and updating functionality in Chrome as well. Does anyone else have these issues?

ahhhh... sorry to keep posting on my own question, but I've found out a little more detail on the actual issue. It seems that if I have the callout section added to more than one area (ie. Footer, Content,) at a time, those two elements need to both be unchecked on the Pagelines Section Control panel or else neither will show up. My problem is that on some pages, I'd like the callout section to show up in the Footer and not in the Content area, or vice versa. How can I work around this problem? Thanks so much for your help in advance! Marc

You can use custom CSS to hide the call out where you want to hide it (in this case, you want to hide it in the Content area). First make sure that the two elements are showing up and then the one you don't want displayed can be hidden. Can you please post a link to your site?

I want to do the same thing. On my home page I want the callout to be under the feature section, but not at the bottom of the page. How can this be done? Why are we even given the choice of where to put the callout, and then forced to check two different boxes if they only work together? For a Drag and Drop theme, there is a lot of css customization needed.

If you want it below the feature section but not at the bottom, can't you just drag the callout section into the feature template in Template Setup?
