Showing Banner on Blog Page

Recommended Posts

gnome

Background: I'm using the traditional blog page as homepage setup. Configured as such via WPress. In the template setup, I added the banner "widget" for the header area, which should presumably make it appear on all pages. Followed the instructions in the video and the text in the documentation area. Set up an image on the left with some dummy text on the right. Issue: On all except the blog page, the banner + text appears fine. On the blog page -- just the text. No image!!! Other: Using latest everything on WPress side, and server side (except PHP 5.2.X rather than 5.3). All widgets disabled. On both my local development site (MAMP) but get same thing on my PLines trial site. Have checked all forum posts for ideas. I can't help thinking it's something really obvious.... Thanks! %%robert

Here's the site: http://test.pagelines.com/gnome/ On the page it opens to (blog) you'll see just the banner text, no image. Either of the other pages will have both. Rechecked all the settings. %%robert

I checked your source and the image isn't appearing in the banner media code, so it's not like it's being hidden. It's really just not there. You have no custom code added to your CSS? P.S. - Funny thought: I was about to write "source code" above but deleted "code" and when I visited the page where the banner works, behold... a screenshot from the movie "Source Code" :P

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

Since I just started watching that flick...seemed appropriate . Double-checked. Absolutely no custom CSS. In fact, haven't made in CSS changes even via the PP options panels. Curiouser and curiouser. %%robert Update: This may get us somewhere. I Firebugged a working banner page on the site, and drilling down in div class="banner-media-pad" there's a

and then an img alt= link to the file. On the page which has text and no image, the

and the img alt=link is NOT present. The the issue becomes -- what's causing that? P.S. Saved screen shots of the Firebug display in each case.

Answered but NOT solved. I really would like to get this solved. To make it easier, I've uploaded the two screen caps (per previous post). One on left is of non-working banner, the main blog page. One on right is the working banner, on the other blog pages. Have to click image to see full picture. Will appreciate further assistance. thanks! %%robert

Sorry!!! Just double-checked. THIS works: http://test.pagelines.com/gnome/2011/06/24/welcome-to-pagelines-test/ Unintentional bonus to add to the confusion: when you click each image to view the full one, it appears in the previously empty space at the top of the page where the Source Code image should be appearing! Further, if there's still an issue getting there, in the archives listing at the bottom of the page, the post to see is "Welcome to Pagelines Test". %%robert

I'm going to mark this for the developers, because I was able to duplicate the issue in my own installation of PP.

Er, it's been about a month. Any guesses as to timeline when the developers will be dealing with this? thanks! %%robert

Still waiting, alas. Seems like there's been plenty of time for a developer to have chimed in. %%robert
