How Can I Just Get My Most Recent Post on My Static Home Page?

Recommended Posts

I have my Blog page working fine. I don't want my latest post to only show in the widget section. I want the most recent post to show on my Home page which is set as a static page in the Wordpress settings. Any way to get one post to show on this home page?

there are number of ways, Ie platform's features or boxes, using a plugin or category parser. So you'll need to define how you would like to look. And also do a search (toip right) because you are the first person to want to do this and there have been some creative solutions presented in the forums. bevy

Sorry bevj but your answer doesn't help me at all. I have searched the forum and haven't found a similar question. I am guessing a feature will work but have no idea how to do that

I have ask the same the path I am on it using the morefooter 3 column widget then use the feature post plugin manually set a id name the feature widget the category..i still have not been able to find the source code to modify the widget so that it is only 2 columns so I can then create a new section. ideally I would like the feature post to just pull the most recent post but that is not happening, please share any thoughts.

I meant to say, you are "not the first person to ask this", and yes there are a ~million threads on this subject. Here is one that might solve your problem, http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/9880/blog-entries-and-static-content-on-home-page, that I found in about 4 ns by using the search box on the top right. Please familiarize yourself with it, it is a handy little tool. Now to my first and apparently unhelpful comment. I was trying to give away free web design info to you by first determining your needs, as there are many ways to do what you want but since you didn't want it, I wish you the best of luck http://www.pagelines.com/docs/feature-slider

That link did it for me - Thank you so much for sticking with me - much appreciated. I'm not a techie so I wasn't able to find this when I searched. I found a plugin to use with the universal sidebar that made it perfect
