apatim 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 I have successfully installed PlatformPro but when I attempt to install PlatformBase I get the following error: PlatformBase The parent theme is missing. Please install the "platformpro" parent theme. I've tried finding the answer to the problem but without success. I have checked with my server host and they use php 5.2.14 so that can't be the problem. What am I doing wrong.

Simon 248 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 How did you intall platformpro? and where are the files located?
apatim 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 I installed by uploading the zip file. I don't know how to determine where the files are located. Platformpro shows up in my installed themes and I am able to activate it without any problems. I am a bit of a novice with wordpress (sorry!)... I have been using twenty-ten and twenty-eleven but now want to use wordpress as my main website so am trying to learn. Platformpro seems pretty easy to use and I've been playing with the free version and with a test site without problems.
Simon 248 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 ok file structure has to be: wp-contrent/themes/platformpro/ wp-content/themes/platformbase/ MAke sure it isnt platformpro/platformpro/ or something. Do you have FTP or a file control panel on your host?
apatim 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 I have Cyberduck but don't know how to use it... I have tried connecting to my site with it but without success. I used to use filezilla when I first started using wordpress but changed on the suggestion of a friend. I was having trouble learning filezilla.
apatim 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 I am sorry to bother you with this elementary problem. As a novice, I am trying to learn. I've not had any problems that I couldn't solve before so I'm sure I'll figure this out too.

Simon 248 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 Right, as i thought your theme is in the wrong folder: http://myjaxhometeam.com/wp-content/themes/Archive3/pro/pro.css Archive3 it should be platformpro swtchh to another theme, rename the folder using FTP then switch back. apatim 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2011 Oddly enough, I changed the zip file name from "archive.zip" to "platform.zip" and uploaded again and suddenly every attempt I had previously made to upload Pro and Base showed up in my Themes and I was able to activate PlatformBase. Hopefully all will go smoothly from here on out! Again, thanks for your support! Tim
