Multisite backend incredibly slow

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I have setup two sites using multisite, and am beginning to build the content in http://www.salesgym-training.com/ and http://www.salesgym-training.com/clients/ ....the site is performing ok but the backend is like a dog on sleeping pills, it's literally taking minutes to navigate from page to page. Has anyone else had this problem? It coincided with an update to Wordpress 3 so whether that is part of it I don't know, but it's nearly unworkable. I have spoken to a few wordpress guys and they try and point the finger back here (as they would) so wondered if this was an issue that was known about. I don't think it has anything to do with plugins as it was slow as soon as I installed multisite and platform pro. Thanks Jamie

Interesting, we use standard platformpro on test.pagelines.com with nearly 3000 accounts and there is no slowdown. Try disabling the auto updates under misc-settings

Found it! Traced a few Wordpress forums and there is a simple solution, I'm not techy so i don't know why it works but if you suffer from this problem all you need to do is add /wp-admin/upgrade.php onto the end of your site to force WP to upgrade your database ....now everything working fine again, relief!
