How to remove all basic features

I would like to close the gap between the second navigation and the twitter bar. As of now I have 5 different boxes, I cant seem to remove... a search field, another search field, visit our friends links, achieves .. What to do ?

For the gap: are you able to provide a link to your site, please? For the others: I believe you're referring to the widgets. You can change those at Appearance->Widgets.

Hi Kate Thanks for you quick response. It was a mere question of ticking of the morefoot 3 column box in the rightside navigation We're still learning
