Buddypress not generating password email for new user registration

I am in the process of setting my website on PlatformPro and using Buddypress for the first time. When a new user registers they do not receive the email with a password. Instead they receive an email telling them to use the password they created when registering but this password does not work so they cannot sign in. What should I do to activate this email that generates the password? Thanks.

can you provide a link to site, so we can maybe test out the user registration process/?

Hi there, thanks for the reply. Here is the link: www.strictlybloggers.com. When registering on buddypress on the homepage, a user can set up their own password.The email to activate the link was received but then they can't login afterwards and get a message 'invalid username'. When I check admin, the user is shown as a subscriber. When registering via bbpress on the forum www.strictlybloggers.com/forum, a user is not allowed to set up a password and informed that they will receive email with the password but this never arrived. Any help is setting these up correctly will be appreciated.

I just registered on the forum and did get the activation email, and was able to log in. It did take a while to get the email though, I think more than a half an hour.
