How do I get the Feature Slider on home page and not on posts pages

How do I edit the template for the "home" page so that the feature slider appears on this page and not on the "posts pages?" It seems my "home" page is currently classified as a "posts page." I can't figure out how to change this.

you need to create a static home page. first create and publish the homepage( make sure you select feature page from under the page attribute tab), then go to wordpress settings > select reading > select static page and the select your new home page,. save. your home page should now be a static feature page. bevj
