gsmcneal 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2011 Hi all, I'm using PlatformPro and currently have a standard blog as my "Home". In my menu bar I have a link to a Bio(page) a link to Info(page) and some other direct links to external sites. I want to add a link to a News page which would be a blog. My goal is that sometimes I want to blog lengthier features that appear on the current Home blog, but other times I want to blog news related items (perhaps 15-20 short thoughts/snippets per day). I don't want the news items crowding out the features that I spend more time on. My preferred solution is to have the news type items appear in a separate part of the website as a news blog. Is this possible with PlatformPro? Any tips on how to do it? Thanks a bunch!
cmunns 16 Report post Posted July 28, 2011 Create a category called "news" You can then create a custom menu under Appearance - Menus to link to a page of just news item categories. Then if you want to leave off the news from the main page you could use query_posts before the loop.. there are many articles on how to do it, here is just one : http://brightscape.net/blog/exclude-category-wordpress-blog-loop-rss-feed/
