How can I define a template for post detail page?

I am showing list of top 5 blogs on the home page. when I click on the link for the post, it reloads the home page and shows the post details at the bottom... how can I define a template for the post page so that all posts automatically inherit the pageline settings?

http://gssa.us I have installed duplicate post for now to solve the problem but I wish there was a way to define the post template and define it for all the posts created... Please let me know if you have a better solution. Sincerely.
