CSS for small type credit in footer

I'd like to add credit in small type in the footer of pages. However, all of the formatting HTML I add to the footer boxes gets apparently overriden by the CSS. What's the best way to accomplish this? Thanks!

Where specifically in the footer would you like the credit? Directly below all of content in the footer?

Below the footer content or preferably it the bottom of the footer on the right side. I'm using the Morefoot Sidebar 3-colum in the footer.
