Social Icons and z-index?

Recommended Posts

Trying to position the icons inline with the nav but the nav is on top so that the icons are not clickable. poked around with fire bug and could not figure it out any input would be great. fyi - tried to set main nav to 650 px that caused the nave to wrap but still could not hit the icons dev site here

just shorten up the main nav ul `.main_nav {width:700px;}`

That is what I tried before, it did change the width but there still seems to be a layer on top of the rss icon (#primary-nav ??) Plus I would also like to keep the rule under the main nav full width, changing the .main_nav affects the rule.

Catrina the #primary-nav works to allow you to click the icons. However it also reduces the width of the rule/line that runs full width under the nav tabs (need to keep it full width). Does anybody know if there would be a way to change the order of the layers using CSS z-index??? tried a few more things in fire bug but can't seem to get anything to happen.

found this to work - puts the icons on top of the navigation layer .icons { bottom: 15px; height: 24px; line-height: 20px; position: absolute; right: 0; text-align: right; z-index: 50;}
