404 Error Message

Recommended Posts

Andrew

depending on the theme 404 text will either be in the bottom of the "_posts.php" file or in the 404.php file :)

Tip. Can you always provide the folder name in your responses, where these files are found, so us non-PHP-experts can find things faster? Thanks :)

Ooooops! I messed up. How can I fix the code now, now the 404 error page shows this: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/phod7240/public_html/creativenudge.com/wp-content/themes/EcoPro/library/_posts.php on line 97

Doesn't work to edit that file _posts.php and it's not in the 404 file

It tells you where the error is, but often the actual syntax mistake, etc is a few lines before or after the actual line 97. I checked your page and your also getting an error on line 57 and lost the post-footer. Could you copy and paste the section of code in question?

I'm assuming this is still a problem? A few different ideas to consider, so you want http://www.creativenudge.com/ to redirect to http://creativenudge.com/'>http://creativenudge.com/ for all pages, and that's when the problem started? Did you make this change outside the normal WordPress settings? So when you go to this admin settings page: http://creativenudge.com/'>http://creativenudge.com/wp-admin/options-general.php is http://creativenudge.com - exactly like that set in both the "WordPress address (URL)" and "Blog address (URL)" fields? If not, update it and see if the problems persists. A more manual/simpler approach to deal with error pages to have complete control would be to use this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/ You can redirect specific pages to other pages or all 404 error pages to a custom page or your sitemap customized as much as you want like any other normal page, with any colors wording you want. Please let me know if that works. Thanks, Bryan

towards the bottom of the '_posts.php' file, there should be a section with some text like: 'sorry, but what you're looking for...' Do you see it?
