bern 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2011 Hi, my callout punctuation has been replaced with backslashes. What's up? http://www.raybevlangton.co.uk/
cmunns 16 Report post Posted July 19, 2011 where is the callout section? Is it using a special font perhaps?
bern 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2011 Hi, I had to remove the callout whilst we work out the problem. I was using Lucida Grande, but I checked and the same issue occurs with every font in the typography section. What's happening is apostrophes and quotation marks are being replaced by backslashes. After searching around the net the problem could possibly be something to do with magic quotes or strip slashes, but I can't figure out how to implement a fix. Cheers for any help. I really can't use an unpunctuated quote in the call out.

bern 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2011 Hi, I'm running: contact form 7 tiny MCE advanced reliable twitter I have just done a test and deactivated these one by one with the call out displayed and the problem still occurs. I have also tested every font and the issue is universal. Oddly enough the slashes always get copied back to the call out text field in template setup so it reads thus "Children's Festival events are educational and great fun!" when I originally typed "Children's Festival events are educational and great fun!" I will leave the broken call out up today, if someone could investigate I would be very grateful. Thank you for your help

bern 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2011 Look! It happened again this forum removes the slashes!! In the post above I placed a backslash either side of the qoutation marks and they were deleted when I posted. My site adds extra slashes when I uses quotations and apostrophes. Wierd... cmunns 16 Report post Posted July 21, 2011 Alright what version of PlatformPro?
toddfulks 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Platform Pro replaces the apostrophe with a slash for some odd reason. If we can't type how we speak on our web sites, then what's the purpose?
Jenny 33 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 Have you tried using the other apostrophe? And as @cmunns asked, what version of PlatformPro? ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up. toddfulks 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2011 My client will not know what the 'other apostrophe' is and therefore this would be considered a bug and would not be acceptable no matter if it is my fault or Pagelines or WordPress. The apostrophe displaying as a slash would be a showstopper. Current Theme: PlatformBase 1.4.1 Available Themes: PlatformPro 1.5.3 (yes this version resides in my Available Themes section). Jenny 33 Report post Posted September 25, 2011 It looks like you got this working because the apostrophe on the home page has no backslash. What was the issue? ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up.
