jscurr 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 Hi, I am wanting to optimise my site with respect to H1 and H2 tags. I realise that the themes come well optimised, however i have a unique situation. I have used the Highlight Page Template for 6 pages that belong to the same product category. The H1 tag in the highlight feature title is fine for the first page, however for the other 5 remaining highlight pages, i want to use for example "H1copy" so that search engines only pay attention to the first page which is in effect the home page of that particular product category. Does that make sense? So i have gone into the stylesheet and created a new header style, however when i try to apply it to any of my pages, it sends the text back to standard text. Any ideas? Cheers, James.

justme 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2010 You may be making more trouble for yourself than you need to. I may misunderstand but if these six pages are the same category but have different content on each page, then you don't have a duplicate content problem. In fact, having several pages with related but different content should actually improve your PR not lower it. You want to avoid using H1 more than once per page, but that does not apply if you are on different pages. Just my 2 cents. Have a link we can see?
