jwchameleoncorp 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 When I try to add a feature using "Add New Feature" and then click the Save Meta Setting button, after the page refreshes, whatever file I uploaded and all the settings I selected disappear! I have done this before a million times. I have no idea why its doing this now. I am using all the latest versions of WP, BP, and Platforms Pro. What the heck?! catrina 103 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Have you already tried deactivating any plugins one by one to see if any of them are causing the issue? Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to. Designer | Catrina Dulay Founder | Catrina and Mouse
jwchameleoncorp 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Hi Catrina! Great to hear from you. Thanks for the reply. Yes I did try to deactivate the plugins. But the really weird part it that it's happening on all my sites where I use Platforms Pro, not just one. That's about 5 different sites, all with different plugins and completely different URL's, (not subdomains). I upgraded everything, logged off and logged back in, and just about anything else you can think of. It's affecting all my sites which is frustrating. I can't figure it out? jwchameleoncorp 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Hey Catrina. Here's an update. I just created a brand new website, new URL, fresh install of WP...the works. I put the latest version of Platforms on it and had the same problem. Then I tired a theme from another company that has a similar feature slider and had no problem at all. The problem is specific to the Platforms theme. Any ideas?
jwchameleoncorp 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Just checked this morning. Still does not work. Not really sure what to do at this point. I'd hate to have to scrap Platforms.
jwchameleoncorp 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 I use Platforms Pro for several websites. All of a sudden on ALL of my websites I can not "Add a New Feature." All my websites are individual URL's, not subdomains. When I upload the image and click the "Save Meta Settings" button, the screen refreshes and my upload is gone along with all my other settings. To test it, I even created a brand new website with a new URL, latest versions of WP, BP, and Platforms...the works. It still malfunctions. I even tried it through 2 different cPanels (totally independent accounts with my host provider) and it still has the same problem. I have "Added New Features" dozens of times before and I've never had a problem. I don't know what else to do. I urgently need a solution in order to build my websites. Thanks in advance for your help.
poseyg+ 1 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Jeff, This may sound a little dumb on my part, but with my feature settings I have to push the "Publish" or "Update" to save a new feature. Then click on the "Save Meta Settings"
jwchameleoncorp 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2011 Hey Posey! Definitely not dumb on your part! I was willing to try anything at this point. Your reply actually prompted me to try something which fixed the problem! After all this time using the Feature Slider in Platforms, this was the first time I wanted to display pictures without text. So everytime I tried to save the new feature it got rejected. I simply didn't know it was a requirement that you must have text in the Feature Post area. However I still wanted a Feature Slider without text. Low and behold you can select that in the drop down. After all this time I thought I new Platforms pretty well. Operator error on my part due to lack of familiarity. After hours of confusion, at least now I know. Thank you so much for your input! It's what prompted me to solve the problem!
