How To Add The Category To BBpress Front Page

Recommended Posts

bonngean

Hi, I recently added bbpress to my Pagelines PRO site here: http://www.herodawn.com/forums/ I AM using the templates supplied with my DEV version of Pro. I'd like to find out how to replace the FIRST name column to show the CATEGORY of the topic instead. I have users asking that this be done, so it's important for me to find out how to do it. Can anyone shed some light on the best way to accomplish this? Thanks. --Bonnie

@Adam, I tried adding forum_name() in place of the get_topic_author() and it added it to the individual category pages as well, which isn't really want I want. I just want to add it to the post list on the front page of the forums -- not the individual category pages. Is there a way, just to get the category listed on the post list without having it copied to the individual category pages too? -- Bonnie

Hm, there might be a way to exclude that from the individual category pages using an exclude code added to the code, like in this example:

<?php echo forum_name('exclude=IDNUMBERS'); ?>

IDNUMBERS would be replaced by the ID numbers (separated by commas) for the category pages.

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
