EcoPro Feature Slides Not Displaying

Recommended Posts

suzannesteinert

After deactivating then reactivating my EcoPro theme, my features are no longer displaying properly. The Feature Setup settings remained as they were: everything appears to checked correctly so the slides should be viewable on the homepage as they were before. Only the text of Feature Slide #1 is currently displaying (see www.exploredifferently.com). I have 2 others set up, all with header text and images, but neither they nor their images are displaying. I deactivated/deleted extraneous plug-ins, so don't think that's the issue. I am currently unable to update to the latest version of Wordpress as my host's MSQL is limited... so maybe that's complicating things...

Also, what CSS reference in the Custom Code field should I use to: 1) Alter the background opacity of the feature template (so it becomes a transparent gray)? 2) Condense the width of the feature template so it doesn't extend across the entire page?

X-nay #1 of the last query -- figured it out! Still need help with the rest though.

Hey Suzanne, I'm not seeing a feature slider. Often, though, that issue is related to a conflicting plugin. I would try deactivating any other plugins you have, and seeing if that resolves the issue. If it does, you can reactivate the plugins one by one to find the culprit.

oh NO! I was in the process of doing this when all of a sudden, after deleting the wp-cache(sp?) plugin with only a couple more to go, LOST ACCESS to the entire back and front ends of my site! My host account is still running fine, no notices about service suspension or anything. Help!!!

Hm, strange, deleting plugins shouldn't cause this. What other plugins were you running?

I don't know, Akismet; custom html something or other; a bunch of Yahoo-related ones that appeared on their own... I only just started tinkering with my site so barely looked at the plug-in page before now. I installed one myself yesterday (that apparently enabled drag and drop when editing posts) but deleted it earlier.

Whew. Figured it out for now, thanks guys! Deleting the plug-ins cured the feature slide issue, but apparently deleting the wp-cache plug was what killed my site. Was able to fix that in my host account manager via Simon's advice. Whew!
