Switching to Linux

Recommended Posts

neurobonkers

Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie and very new to Pagelines. I've stumbled across a number of posts which suggest switching to Linux (I'm currently on a windows server). I'm planning to make the switch using the Godaddy automatic system. Can someone confirm that this is a wise decision and that I won't risk ruining my blog? The problems I've been experiencing include very slow page load times with the server regularly timing out. I'm currently trying to resolve the problem using "WP Super Cache". I should probably note here that I have a yellow note at the top of my wordpress saying "PlatformPro 1.5.1 is available" even though the installed version is version 1.5.1. Thanks in advance, Max Live Blog Neurobonkers.com Server details: OS/Hosting Type: Windows / 4GH Web Hosting .Net Runtime Version: ASP.Net 2.0/3.0/3.5 PHP Version: PHP 5.2 IIS Version: IIS 7.0

I'm not familiar with Linux, so I can't say whether or not it would be a wise decision. I'll leave it to anyone else on the forum to respond. :)
