Can additional plugins be activated on a test site?

Can additional plugins be activated on a test site? I am having trouble with the cforms plugin and need to try others but can't seem to find a way to add other plugins on the testing site...

I have installed grunion contact forms on the test setup. Its made by Automatic, I use it on my own site. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/grunion-contact-form/

Hey Simon, Thank you. That is a good easy to apply plugin. I certainly appreciate you taking that step for me. I really need a bit more customization, different field types etc... Any other ideas?
