cvandyck 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2011 I would like to have a paragraph of descriptive text appear when a picture is clicked on. Can you describe how I should do this?
catrina 103 Report post Posted July 9, 2011 Do you want the text to be animated somehow (slide out) or do you want it to pop up in a box? Please read the docs before posting. cvandyck 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 No, I am simply looking for the "artwork" of the background or canvas where part of the page (box) on left hand side is "separated" visually from the "content" on the right side by the fact that the two underlying canvas or colors are differentiated. .. pls look at this webpage www.vandycks.org

You would like a new page to open when this happens or do you mean that you want a box (separated from the content) to pop up in an empty space somewhere on the page? cvandyck 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 Good question .. I think for photo's the later .. perhaps with a couple of possibilities: 1. click on it and when the picture enlarges have a pop up window with descriptive content about the picture; and/or 2. when you hover over the picture a box appears somewhere on page with that same content about the picture
catrina 103 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 Here's an example of what I thought you wanted in the beginning: http://www.kriesi.at/wp-content/extra_data/tooltip_tutorial/step1.html Mousing over an image and a box with information pops up. There are different variations of this. Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to. cvandyck 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 Yes... something like that would be nice .. would there be a limitation as to how much text I could have in there?? How do I do this?
catrina 103 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 There wouldn't be a limitation, as long as the text isn't so long that the tool tip ends up getting cut out at the bottom (but someone would still be able to scroll down to see the rest of the box, anyway). Here's another example (with a slightly different appearance): http://www.kriesi.at/wp-content/extra_data/tooltip_tutorial_2/step1.html It can be customized using CSS. There tutorial for it here: http://www.kriesi.at/archives/create-simple-tooltips-with-css-and-jquery-part-2-smart-tooltips These tool tips can be added to your images manually.
