platform (free): how to hide header search?

Recommended Posts

ezekieldas

I've done various CSS modifications to Platform using child themes. Most have come easy. This one, however, is tricky. I'm trying to hide the search box that comes with the header template, navigation. My guess is it's something with #primary-nav but firebug is showing otherwise. These are the elements (below) I've tried --the ones that firebug indicated. THIS DOES IN FACT HIDE SEARCH *BUT* it hides it when I choose it as a widget as well. How can I hide ONLY the header search?

.searchfield { display:none; }
	.submit { display:none; }

Thank you, -zeek

OK, you will need to create a child theme 1st, Instructions how all over the internet ;) Once you have your child theme running and activate create a BLANK file called searchform.php and put it in the childthemes dir, thats all.

That kills search entirely. Looking to hide the search box in platform header ONLY. There must be a context to not display search in header ONLY. Or is there? So far only solution (kludge): section.nav.php /* if(!pagelines_option('hidesearch')){ get_search_form(); } */
