calling images via bloginfo('template_directory')

Hello- I am trying to call images in my functions.php file of a child theme. when using: <?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?> to access the URL of the template directory, it called the Platform Pro parent theme and not the child theme. What should I use to call up the child theme?
