#page-canvas will not transparent with .png

All, I have made a 75% transparent .png file. I cannot seem to get it to work correctly. I am working on trying to keep the media within the body normal, with the body transparent so I can show the background of the page. I am using this, and I am running the PagelinesPro. #page-canvas{background:transparent url(http://whytemptfate.com/pageline/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/transbg.png)}

I also activated the PagelineBase theme, and I am adding that code to the styles.css. It clearly states it will override all the others. Not sure why its not working.

Hi Aaron, When I follow that link for the image, it gives a 404. Make sure the image is still there. Your CSS seems fine, but I would have to see it in action to make sure.

.body #page-canvas{background:transparent url(http://www.nike.com/global-landing/global/images/opacity_50.png)}

Can i do that and have it as the background of the body? What I want to happen is I have a large image that I want to have as the background, and i want to make the page body transparent so you can see some of the background image behind it.

So I have tried using some of the transparency css that I found looking around. When i use it, it makes the whole body transparent, which is a problem due to the fact that it makes all the news/images in my blog transparent. I only want the background of the body transparent. And i was told that had to be done with a .png image.

Solved with the following code. Thanks.

body #page{background:transparent url(http://www.nike.com/global-landing/global/images/opacity_50.png)}

I tried doing the same thing with the same code to no avail. Any thoughts as to why it's not working? I tried applying it to page-canvas, page, body, etc., and tried a few dif opaque pngs, with no luck.
