Hide Author in WHP2

I would like to remove the by line in WHP 2. What snippet of code am I needing? (I don't mind date + categories, just want to remove the BY part.) Thanks

In _posts.php look for : `<?php _e('by',TDOMAIN);?> <?php the_author(); ?>` and remove the first PHP bit `<?php _e('by',TDOMAIN);?>`
